About The Artist  

Ottawa based self taught painter Daniel Gray creates abstract acrylic paintings that radiate with vibrant splashes of color, and communicates a strong sense of movement and fluidity. Daniel is an abstract painter inspired by a drive to explore feelings and emotions. 

Mixing acrylics, fluids and additives Daniel uses a range of methods, from splashing, pouring and dripping paint directly on the canvas, using a mix of traditional brushes and untraditional tools, such as spatulas newspaper, and rulers, to make sweeping marks, creating amazing acrylic paintings. Daniel expresses through his work a natural and intuitive passion for paint and an instinctual appreciation for emotional charged color relationships.  His fresh and vibrant aesthetic position occupies a space between Abstract Expressionism and Surrealism and seems to emanate from a dream like realm.
